This painting was so much fun to design and paint! I started with a vision - took countless reference photos and decided on the photograph that best captured the story I wanted to tell. A moment of surprise and slight alarm, as a wasp joins our sitter for a glass of fizz. 'Bubbles for Two' is inspired by an era long past but one that feels nostalgic to me even though I've never experienced this timeline. The bright background and fun colours add a contemporary twist to this piece, making it suitable for most interiors. It is a delightful painting, and one that I have enjoyed creating from start to finish.
